Amitava Kumar

Kumar, a writer for The Nation, The Times of India, and The Hindu, discusses how Anish Kapoor’s art, like the work of Indian writer Vikram Seth, is difficult to categorize.

How does this work suggest endless difference rather than a fixed ethnic essence?

A professor of English at Vassar College, Kumar is the author of several works of fiction and non-fiction, including the New York Times Editor’s Choice, "Husband of a Fanatic," and the editor of "Away: The Indian Writer as an Expatriate."

Admission is free. Space is limited. Free tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis at the admissions desk one hour before the program.
