TELEMUNDO WAS THE FIRST SPANISH-SPEAKING NETWORK IN NEW ENGLAND TO TRANSMIT A LIVE POLITICAL DEBATE WITH A SIMULTANEUS TRANSLATION IN SPANISH

Boston, Mass., Dec. 14, 2009 - Telemundo Boston made history by broadcasting live the last U.S. democratic senatorial debate before the primaries. Johnny Peguero, Guillermo Madrigal, Adriana Swim, and the Telemundo production team made the simultaneous translation possible.  

The four Democratic candidates, Martha Coakley, Michael Capuano, Alan Khazei, and Stephen Pagliuca, who were contending for the late Senator Edward Kennedy's Senate seat, debated in a one-hour debate co-sponsored by NECN, the Boston Globe, WBUR and WGBH-TV. The debate aired on Wednesday, December 2, at 7 p.m. 

This unique space provided the Spanish speaking Telemundo viewers one last opportunity to listen to the candidates’ views before the primaries on Dec. 8, 2009.

TELEMUNDO HIZO HISTORIA AL SER EL ÚNICO MEDIO TELEVISIVO DE HABLA HISPANA EN NUEVA INGLATERRA QUE TRANSMITIERA EN VIVO UN DEBATE POLÌTICO CON TRADUCCIÓN SIMULTÁNEA EN ESPAÑOL

Johnny Peguero, Guillermo Madrigal, y Adriana Swim, junto con el equipo de producción de Telemundo, hicieron posible la traducción simultánea. Los entonces cuatro candidatos demócratas, Martha Coakley, Michael Capuano, Alan Khazei, y Stephen Pagliuca, quienes fueran contendientes por el puesto que dejó vacante el Senador Edward Kennedy, se enfrentaron en un debate co-auspiciado por NECN, el Boston Globe, UBUR y WGBH-TV.   

Este espacio le brindó a la audiencia de Telemundo la oportunidad de escuchar las diferentes posiciones de los candidatos frente a los asuntos que le preocupan a la comunidad antes de las primarias del pasado martes, 8 de diciembre del 2009.
