Prevención de la Diabetes

in

Diabetes type 2 affects many Latinos -- just being Latino and having family members with the disease can increase one's chance of getting diabetes type 2.

Left untreated, diabetes can cause blindness, kidney failure, heart disease and amputations of the feet.  But having healthy food habits and exercising regularly are two ways to avoid or manage the disease.

Listen to this Massachusetts Department of Public Health podcast in Spanish on diabetes prevention, with the MDPH's Jordan Coriza and the Joslin Diabetes Center's Andreina Millan-Ferro.  Learn what other risk factors exist for getting diabetes type 2 -- and what you can do if you already have the disease.source:  Jordan Coriza, Mass.
