GET FREE  TICKETS Sat., Dec. 19, for ICE SKATING at FENWAY PARK

Skating takes place Jan. 3 & Jan. 10, 2010

Tickets are for Boston residents only; maximum of 4 tickets per household

 

Mayor Thomas M. Menino, in partnership with Sun Life Financial, the National Hockey League ( NHL ), and the Boston Bruins, will give thousands of Boston families the once-in-a-lifetime chance to skate on the ice at Fenway Park during Sun Life Frozen Fenway, which follows the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.  The arrangements were made by Mayor Menino as part of the City of Boston ’s Inaugural celebrations.

The City of Boston will give away over 3,000 tickets tomorrow between 9-11 a.m. at 16 locations around Boston for free public skating on Sunday, January 3 and Sunday, January 10. 

Boston residents will have a chance to receive tickets on a first-come, first-served basis at the locations below.  Please see the important information regarding ticket distribution that follows this listing.

* Ticket distribution at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center will take place between 12-2 p.m., rather than 9-11 a.m., due to the center’s hours of operation.

Important information regarding tickets for free public skating at Fenway Park

  • Ticket distribution for free public skating at Fenway Park will only take place on Saturday, December 19, between 9-11 a.m. , at the locations listed above.
  • Free public skating will take place at Fenway Park on Sunday, January 3 and Sunday, January 10.  Tickets will indicate an assigned date and time for your session.
  • Tickets are for City of Boston residents only.  In order to receive tickets, valid proof of residency in the form of a Massachusetts driver’s license or Massachusetts state ID is required.  Minors without this identification must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that can provide such identification.
  • There is a limit of four (4) tickets per household.  However, not all members of the household need to be present to receive tickets.  Tickets for this event are non-transferrable. 

 

  • An equal number of tickets for free public skating will be distributed at each of the 16 locations citywide.  Individuals that are not able to secure tickets at a given location can place their name on a waiting list, in the event that there is an excess of tickets.
  • Only individuals that plan to skate at Fenway Park need tickets for admission to the venue.  Parents or guardians that plan to accompany children but do not plan to skate do not need a ticket to be admitted to Fenway Park.
