FILM DESCRIPTION, from MFA Web site:
The internationally recognized film director Jean-Marie Téno screens and discusses his provocative documentary, Chief!

The cinematic essay explores societal issues facing contemporary Africa, including colonialism, Neo-colonialism, migration, dictatorship and the abuse of power.

Téno extends this analysis to portray daily life in contemporary Cameroon and demonstrate how a new generation is making up for the mistakes of the past.

"Very powerful and eloquent, Chief! underscores, in a neat presentation, the challenges Africa faces in establishing rights and accountability at the village level, between the sexes and for persons of power-be they traditional or political" (Adotei Akwei, campaign director, Amnesty International).

Co-presented with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
